We create each jewelry piece by hand with care and attention to detail. We use high quality materials from reputable resources. Any variations in color, size, or inclusions in gems or pearls are a natural part of the materials.
The jewelry in the photos on this website are not actual size. Dimensions are given in the listing of each jewelry piece.
All of our gold plated jewelry is vermeil, which means there is a thin layer of gold electroplated to solid sterling silver. Our gold plating is thicker than most and should not wear off easily with proper care. Gold plating will likely wear off over time with regular use though- especially rings. If you need your Salty Girl pieces replated please get in touch for instructions. The first replating job is complimentary unless jewelry pieces have clearly not been taken care of properly. Any additional replating jobs will incur a charge.
Gold fill is a material made by fusing a thick layer of gold to base metal. Gold fill is very durable and doesn't rub off easily or tarnish. Both gold fill and vermeil are usually suitable for individuals with metal allergies.
All solid gold pieces are 14k gold. 14k is our chosen alloy because of its durability and its soft buttery yellow color (or soft pink color if it's rose gold). Other carats and colors of gold are available upon request. Please get in touch to inquire about availability and prices if you have a special request for any metal that you don't see listed for a given piece.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. Sterling silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to air because of the metals it's alloyed with. Sterling silver is a commonly used alloy because it's more durable than pure silver. All of our silver pieces are solid sterling. Almost all pieces that are plain silver can be oxidized so please get in touch if you're interested in having something oxidized that you don't see listed. A small fee may apply.
