Custom Orders
Custom jewelry can be a beautiful way of showing someone special you’ve put extra thought into their gift, or as a nice way to treat yourself!
Custom work is divided into two categories:
- Variations on existing Salty Girl designs
- Jewelry made from scratch according to customer specifications
Variations:
Variations on existing designs in the Salty Girl line up incur a $50 special request fee. Examples of variations would be stones changed out for other specially requested stones, different colors of powder coating on Urchin pieces, different chain styles or lengths, special sizing, or other requests of this nature. Please get in touch with as many details as possible for a quote.
From Scratch:
Custom work made from scratch takes a considerably greater amount of time and effort than production work, and thus the hourly rate charged is steeper. There is a learning curve with every custom job, as each piece is being made for the first time.
Most custom jobs can be completed within a month or two, but time frame depends on many variables.
Custom jobs start at $1,000. All sales are final for custom pieces.
If a custom job is approved, a nonrefundable $500 deposit is required before any designs will be brainstormed and sketched out. Once the ball is rolling, this deposit is meant to cement the customer's commitment to the project. This covers loss of time discussing projects one on one that might not come to fruition. When final design is approved, another nonrefundable $500 deposit is required before materials are purchased and custom piece is worked on.
Only custom jobs that are within the realm of the Salty Girl style and technical expertise will be considered. Every artist has their own style and voice, so it's important that you choose the right craftsperson to make the piece you have in mind.
