Salty Girl is a unique line of jewelry created by jeweler and metalsmith Amber Chesebro. Amber draws inspiration for her jewelry from the beautiful patterns, colors, and forms found in the Hawaiian Islands and beyond. With an overwhelming abundance of natural beauty to draw from, the popular jewelry line is always growing and evolving. Her designs reference the untamed lines of nature brought to life through the use of precious metals, gemstones, and natural materials. Amber meticulously handcrafts each piece of jewelry in her Honolulu studio.

Growing up in Maine, Amber was drawn to the peace and serene ambiance of the outdoors. She spent her childhood poking around in tide pools and exploring Maine’s pristine coastline on foot and by boat. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewelry & Metalsmithing, she made the decision to leave the cold winters of the East Coast behind and follow her desire for warm beaches and laid-back island life. Now in Honolulu, Amber brings a strong technical and design background with her education from RISD, and pairs it with a passion and undying love for nature to Salty Girl Jewelry. Her intention is to make classic pieces of wearable art that are collectible because they are lovingly handmade and not mass-produced.

Amber frequently returns to nature for inspiration, to collect specimens, to take photos, and to closely observe nature along the way on her frequent travels, hikes, snorkels, and beachcombing excursions.
